Town Square Snow

Discover the holiday spirit at Town Square, where Winter Wonderland comes to life. This outdoor shopping and entertainment center hosts festive events, including a holiday tree lighting ceremony, live music, and opportunities for holiday shopping in a charming, festive setting.

I took my kids out in Las Vegas to Town Square to see the snow. All around the Christmas tree, they blow out man-made snow so it appears to be snowing all around. My three-year-old had a blast. He is too little to have remembered seeing snow. He was running and trying to catch it. It was so cute.
I believe it’s snowing at Town Square Friday-Sunday in the evenings.

From its casinos and gambling scene to its world-class restaurants and nightlife, there’s something for everyone in Sin City. But no trip would be complete without staying in one of the world-famous luxurious hotels in Las Vegas.

With so many interesting options, it can be hard to know where to start. That’s why we’ve put together this guide to the top hotels in the city, but first, we’ll introduce the unique concept of casino hotels in Vegas.

The Casino Hotel Concept in Las Vegas

This allowed them to attract more visitors who wanted to stay and play in one place. The concept quickly caught on, and today there are dozens of casino hotels in Las Vegas. These hotels typically have large casinos with a wide variety of games and restaurants, bars, speakeasies, and other entertainment options. In addition to their gambling offerings, casino hotels in Las Vegas often feature extravagant shows and performances by world-renowned artists, making them a hub for entertainment and nightlife.

It’s worth mentioning that besides land-based casinos, players these days can enjoy the best casino table games online. Many platforms offer a variety of games like Blackjack, Poker, Roulette, and Craps in a Vegas-like theme for real money. Moreover, online casinos often offer generous bonuses and promotions to attract enthusiastic players worldwide.

12 Must-See Speakeasies in Las Vegas https://www.mommytravels.net/speakeasies-in-las-vegas/ Sun, 13 Aug 2023 18:13:09 +0000 https://www.mommytravels.net/?p=42048 It’s nice to enjoy a drink in an intimate location. One most people don’t know about, shrouded and mystery and secrecy. Get that and more at some of the coolest Las Vegas speakeasies.

Las Vegas Speakeasies

1. Here Kitty Kitty Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den

The Famous Foods Street Eats area at Resorts World looks just like a food court, but it’s not. Behind Ms. Meow’s Mamak convenience store is the passageway into Here Kitty Kitty speakeasy. Give the shelf in the store stocked with potato chips a light push, and you’re in.

The decor and cocktails are highly influenced by Singapore. Drinks range from sweet to strong, and when it comes to The Golden Ticket, this delectable $150 aged scotch drink is downright impressive.

2. Ghost Donkey Ghost Donkey

Block 16 in the glamorous Cosmopolitan hotel offers entry into the Ghost Donkey speakeasy. Just look for the green door adorned with a white donkey, and you’ll know you’re in the right place.

The space is very intimate, only offering seating for a handful of people. It captures a true speakeasy vibe with dim lighting, often thanks to dangling Christmas lights.

Specializing in mezcal and tequila, agave spirits can be enjoyed on their own or in various cocktails. It should be known that the Truffle Nachos should not be missed!

If sneaking through Ghost Donkey wasn’t thrilling enough for you, consider spicing up your time in Sin City with a Las Vegas helicopter tour. See the city in a way you never have before!

3. Datamosh

Datamosh offers a very unique speakeasy experience. Start your supernatural adventure at Omega Mart, a parody of a grocery store located at AREA 15. You’ll be on your own to discover the entry into the speakeasy, just make your way toward the pharmacy.

A trippy space adorned with neon lights and black leather stools aims to set the scene of a pharmacy in a far-off dimension. Guests can choose from seven unique and interesting cosmic cocktails like The Source and Old Fashioned Spray, a blue Windex version of the classic drink.

4. The Laundry Room The Laundry Room

Rich and warm, The Laundry Room captures a real prohibition vibe. This speakeasy is hidden within the walls of the popular Fremont East bar, Commonwealth. It features dim lantern lighting and long bars and stools.

There’s only room for a couple dozen people in this space, making it a very exclusive spot to spend some time in Las Vegas. Reservations are required to peruse this space and enjoy some of their 27 different delectable libations. If nothing on the menu strikes your fancy, create a custom drink with the bartender to fit your mood.

5. Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails

Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails is a business that runs a double life. Well known for being an excellent place for men to get a trim or a stellar shave, this barbershop in The Cosmopolitan Hotel takes on an entirely different persona once the sun goes down.

Visitors can access the speakeasy through a “Janitor” door on the back of the building. The dark whiskey lounge is cozy yet slightly whimsical, featuring different styles of chandeliers and vintage furniture.

Favorite drinks here include Mustache Ride, Bonnie + Clyde, and Six String Sling. It’s also a great spot to enjoy some soothing live music.

Guests enter in the back, which opens up to a dark and seductive whiskey lounge with a stage for live music.

6. 1923 Prohibition Bar 1923 Prohibition Bar

1923 Prohibition Bar is located in a small space on the second floor of The Shoppes at Mandalay Bay, near Minus 5 Ice Bar. Once there, you’ll spy an out-of-place bookshelf. Give it a knock and walk into your adventure.

This bourbon bar is decked out with time-appropriate decor, all echoing 20s influence. Chandeliers and brick walls really work to enhance the seclusion of the space while also transporting guests back in time.

Weekends offer live music and burlesque dancers, making for a night to remember!

7. The Lock at Cabinet of Curiosities The Lock at Cabinet of Curiosities

The Cabinet of Curiosities is a unique bar located at the Horseshoe Las Vegas (formerly Bally’s). Tourists who wish to check out The Lock must first explore this bar. Inside, guests may stumble upon a vintage telephone. Pick it up to retrieve secret info on how to make your way into The Lock.

Travel through a bank vault or, for the more adventurous types, a crawl space to gain entry into this shadowy speakeasy. There’s a set menu, but keep in mind that The Lock is also known for its custom cocktails. Guests can physically fill out a custom order ballot to create their dream drink based on how they are feeling and their favorite places in the world.

8. Mas Por Favor Mas Por Favor

Más Por Favor is a great place to pick up some Mexican food in the Chinatown portion of Las Vegas. The storefront is unassuming, but if you mention the phrase “tonight’s delight” to the taqueria employee, you’re in for quite the surprise.

This code will activate an usher who will lead you down a secret tunnel hallway, depicted to resemble a drug tunnel complete with bags of imitation drugs lining the walkway.

The drinks here are mainly tequila and mezcal-based but pack an array of delectable flavors. Margaritas are, of course, a favorite at this joint!

9. Easy’s

Proper Eats Food Hall in the Aria Hotel looks like a typical food court. But behind the Easy Donuts & Coffee desk is a highbrow bar and lounge. Easy’s specializes in cocktails and caviar. The space is intimate and often features live Jazz music.

A mixture of classic taste and modernity, the menu here features traditional cocktails as well as inventive and entertaining options, depending on what you’re in the mood for.

10. Pier 17 Yacht Club

Caesar’s Palace is home to Vegas’ Green Fairy Garden, and hidden in its greenery is Pier 17 Yacht Club. The decor and atmosphere are nautical-themed. Space is limited, but luckily there’s extended seating on the terrace outside.

If you like mezcal, be sure to try the Tantric Turnbuckle.  And if you’re hungry, their No Pants Burger is sure to impress. As for entertainment, this spot opts for DJ’d rock classics as opposed to live music.

11. The Underground

The Underground speakeasy is ironically located in the basement of the National Museum for Organized Crime & Law Enforcement. Styled after prohibition time, from decor to mood lighting, there are traces of the roaring twenties everywhere.

Drinks are varied and delicious, from prohibition-era classics like Southside Gin Mojitos and Old Fashioneds. They even have their very own moonshine bottled right on the property.

12. The Parlor Room The Parlor Room

The Parlor Room is a hidden lounge at Bavette’s Steakhouse at Park MGM. All about glitz and glamour, this speakeasy is immaculately decorated with vintage furniture, chandeliers, and artwork. The drink menu is heavy-handed on scotch and martinis. It’s a cozy spot to spend a relaxed evening.

Conclusion: Las Vegas Speakeasies

There you have it, a rundown of some of the most secretive and uniquely entertaining speakeasies in Las Vegas. No matter how you end up experiencing Vegas, cheers to a good time!

Cheap Places to Stay in Las Vegas https://www.mommytravels.net/cheap-places-to-stay-in-las-vegas/ Tue, 08 Aug 2023 18:30:58 +0000 https://www.mommytravels.net/?p=41939 Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World, needs no introduction. Its vibrant nightlife, luxurious casinos, and a plethora of attractions are renowned globally. But beyond these flashy indulgences, the city has a different allure for a specific group – students.

Students, whether they’re there for a weekend getaway, attending a conference, or an event, find Las Vegas an intriguing blend of learning, adventure, and fun. With tight budgets and a yearning for unique experiences, they need accommodations that cater to their specific needs without breaking the bank.

This article is a comprehensive guide to some of the best hotels in Las Vegas that perfectly suit a student’s requirements. Students may prefer using an essay helper to finish their assignments quickly and explore the city. We believe that immersing oneself in the culture and environment of a place contributes significantly to personal and academic growth. Besides, once you’ve handed off that essay, what better way to celebrate than by taking in the city’s myriad offerings?

What Students Typically Look for in a Hotel

In a city brimming with accommodation options, what makes a hotel perfect for a student? Let’s consider some key factors:

  • Affordability: The cost of accommodation should be within a student’s budget. They often look for hotels offering good value for money, especially if you’re traveling during a gap year.
  • Proximity to attractions or areas of interest: The hotel should ideally be located close to tourist attractions, eateries, or event venues.
  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, study spaces, a safe environment, and easy transportation are some amenities that students value highly.

Hotel 1: Bungalows HostelBungalows Hostel Las Vegas shared bedroom

For students seeking an affordable and social environment, Bungalows Hostel is an excellent option. It’s a popular hub for international and domestic students, offering both private rooms and dormitory-style accommodations.

The hostel’s community atmosphere makes it a top pick for students. The opportunity to mingle with fellow travelers and engage in group activities makes Bungalows Hostel an enriching experience beyond just a place to rest your head.

Hotel 2: The Linq Hotel + Experience

The LinqThe Linq Hotel + Experience is a mid-range hotel located in the heart of the city. It’s perfect for students looking for a touch of luxury without overstepping their budget.

The Linq’s prime location and modern amenities, including a vast selection of restaurants and access to the High Roller Ferris wheel, make it suitable for students. Its bustling promenade offers a dynamic and energetic vibe that resonates with young travelers.

Hotel 3: The D Las Vegas

The D Las VegasThe D Las Vegas offers a blend of comfort, convenience, and affordability. This hotel is centrally located on the Fremont Street Experience and boasts comfortable rooms.

What makes it suitable for students is its proximity to downtown attractions and affordable dining options. The hotel’s lively casino floor and entertainment shows are added bonuses for those looking to enjoy the quintessential Vegas experience. We also like nearby Golden Nugget.

Hotel 4: Tropicana Las VegasTropicana Las Vegas

Tropicana Las Vegas offers an exotic South Beach vibe with a pool that’s often touted as one of the best in Vegas. Its affordability and chic rooms make it a great choice for students.

Its location at the southern end of the Strip gives students easy access to famous Vegas attractions. The variety of entertainment options at the hotel and its tropical vibe gives a sense of escapism without the high-end price tag.

At this point, it’s good to remember that just like comparing the best paper writing services can help students achieve better academic results, similarly, comparing the features, prices, and locations of various hotels can lead to a more satisfying stay in Las Vegas.

Comparison of Hotels

Let’s summarize the key features of each hotel:

  • Bungalows Hostel: Offers a community atmosphere and affordable rates. Ideal for students who want to socialize.
  • The Linq Hotel + Experience: Mid-range pricing with a variety of entertainment options. Located in the heart of the city.
  • The D Las Vegas: Affordably priced, located in downtown Vegas, and offers a lively casino experience.
  • Tropicana Las Vegas: Affordable luxury with a tropical vibe and one of the best pools in Vegas.

  • The Las Vegas Strip: A 4.2-mile stretch with a variety of casinos, performance venues, and eateries.
  • Fremont Street Experience: A pedestrian mall offering free street performances, concerts, and special events.
  • Red Rock Canyon: An ideal place for outdoor activities like hiking and biking.

While they each have their distinctive charm and benefits, they all share the common objective of making a student’s stay in Las Vegas memorable and budget-friendly.

Top 14 Things to do in Las Vegas off the Strip https://www.mommytravels.net/10-things-to-do-in-las-vegas-off-the-strip/ Sat, 22 Jul 2023 10:18:37 +0000 https://www.mommytravels.net/?p=41721 Las Vegas is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. People come from all over to experience the casinos, nightclubs, live shows, and overall aura of the Las Vegas Strip.

But there is more to Las Vegas than meets the eye, a world of attractions and natural wonders off the Strip that most visitors never even consider. This post will show you why that’s the wrong mentality and go through the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas off the Strip.

The list is in no particular order and includes a wide variety of thrilling activities, natural landscapes, and local flavors. So let’s get down to it. Here are the top 10 things to do in Las Vegas off the Strip.

1. Explore the Southwest’s Beautiful National ParksNational Parks - Death Valley

Here’s something you probably didn’t know: Las Vegas is located within a 5-hour drive (weekend trip) of more national parks than any other city in the United States (tied with Salt Lake City). Some of these parks are even close enough to visit as a day trip from the city, like Death Valley and Zion, though Zion would be a loooong day. Book a Zion day trip from Vegas.

If you’re into the outdoors and desert scenery, adding a stop at one of the Southwest’s amazing national parks is essential for any Las Vegas itinerary. Some additional parks to consider are the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Joshua Tree, Great Basin, and Kings Canyon.

Or if you want to venture a little further out you have Arches, Canyonlands, Sequoia, Yosemite, Capitol Reef, Saguaro, or Petrified Forest. And we are not talking Cuyahoga Valley or Indiana Sand Dunes here. We’re talking about some of the best national parks in the US and some of the most outstanding landscapes on Earth.

Las Vegas is the perfect starting point for an adventure around the stunning desert southwest of the USA.

2. Get outside the city and do some hikingHiking - Valley of Fire

If a little road trip to a national park will take a bit more time than you can afford to spare on your Vegas trip, never fear. There are plenty of amazing natural sites just outside and on the outskirts of the city. Las Vegas is blessed with many natural wonders that can be easily explored in a morning or an afternoon.

For the best combination of amazing scenery and accessibility from the Strip, head to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The park is just west of the city and protects a pristine red-rock mountain formation. Just note that it’s quite popular with locals so it can get pretty busy.

If you’re fine with an hour’s drive, Valley of Fire State Park is one of the most underrated places in the western United States. Full of colorful rock formations, it can easily be explored in a day trip or half-day trip from Vegas. Book a tour to Valley of Fire.

The natural wonders don’t end there though. Other options for getting in touch with nature are Mount Charleston, Lake Meade, Sloan Canyon, and Clark County Wetlands Park, to name a few.

3. Experience Downtown Las VegasDowntown Las Vegas

When Vegas was just getting its start, there was no “the Strip.” That came later. The glitz and glam of Las Vegas begin in what is now downtown Las Vegas, a few miles north of the Strip.

Downtown Las Vegas is full of vintage hotels/casinos like the Golden Nugget, Four Queens, and the Golden Gate. These places are far less luxurious than the Wynn or the Venetian, but they offer a glimpse into Vegas’s past at a fraction of the cost.

The main thoroughfare through downtown Las Vegas is Fremont Street, a pedestrian-only street lined with casinos, bars, restaurants, and street performers. Here you can still find penny slots and you can even zip-line above the street.

Past the pedestrian zone of Fremont Street, you can find local hangouts like the Griffin and Corduroy (and plenty of less tacky restaurants). Downtown Las Vegas has something from everyone!

4. Eat like a localLas Vegas Restaurants

While Vegas casinos are known for having some amazing restaurants, often run by celebrity chefs, there are tons of amazing places to eat off the Strip as well. Delicious restaurants left and right are one of the many benefits of living in Las Vegas for the 2 million locals.

One Vegas staple worth venturing off the Strip for is Hash House A Go Go, a breakfast and brunch restaurant that was putting fried chicken on waffles before it was cool. Or if you’re up for Italian, try Esther’s kitchen in the Arts District.

East of the Strip, near Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, you’ll even find a full-scale replica of the Hofbräuhaus in Munich. There are a few Hofbräuhaus restaurants in the US, but the Vegas one is the only one outside the Midwest and the only authentic replica of the famous Bavarian beer house. And having been to both the original in Munich and the replica in Vegas I can honestly say the food in Vegas is better. Don’t tell the Germans!

5. Have a drink in the Arts DistrictArts District - Vegas Brewery

The Arts District is a region of Las Vegas that sprung up out of a depressed area between the northern tip of the Strip and downtown in the 2010s. It starts north of the Stratosphere on Main Street and continues to a little north of West Charleston Blvd.

While this used to be a sketchy part of Las Vegas, these days the neighborhood is a lively and happening place for locals to hang out, full of art galleries, bars, speakeasies, breweries, and excellent restaurants. If you want a little taste of what it’s like to live in Sin City, the Arts District is where you’ll get it.

If you’re a beer drinker, this is your place. Las Vegas has not been immune to the craft brewery revolution of the last 10 years and you’ll find nearly all of the city’s breweries in this small neighborhood. Some of the better breweries for a flight of local Vegas beer are Able Baker, CraftHaus, and Servehzah. Though there are many more to choose from.

If you want to try beers from all the breweries at once head to The Silver Stamp, an unassuming speakeasy across from the Little Vegas (wedding) Chapel that doesn’t even have a sign. You can find it here on Google Maps though.

If cocktails are your thing, the Arts District has you covered there too. Head to the Velveteen Rabbit for some unique drinks in a unique bar. Whatever you enjoy drinking or eating, you’ll find something in the Arts District

6. Visit the Hoover DamHoover Dam

The Hoover Dam is a wonder of early 20th-century engineering and construction and sits just outside of Las Vegas along the Nevada-Arizona border. Construction of the dam during the Great Depression brought thousands of workers to southern Nevada and set the stage for the Las Vegas you know today.

Until then, Vegas was just a small town of 5,000 people in the desert. The influx of young men created the demand for gambling, entertainment, and showgirls. Even though a newly designated city was built to house the dam workers – Boulder City is still around today – Las Vegas flourished into the entertainment capital of the world it is today.

The Hoover Dam itself is fascinating. Damming the Colorado River and used to create hydroelectric power, it was and still is nearly 100 years later an engineering and construction marvel. The dam offers daily tours ranging from fully guided tours to self-guided walk-throughs. Guided tours run from 9 AM to 5 PM every day and cannot be purchased in advance.

For those without a car (as most people when visiting Las Vegas) there are numerous day trips to the Hoover Dam available through popular sites like GetYourGuide and Viator.

7. Have a day on the boat at Lake MeadLake Mead

The damming of the Colorado River at the Hoover Dam created Lake Mead, a manmade lake that straddles the border of Nevada and Arizona. While it’s slowly rescinding, Lake Mead is still a popular destination for Las Vegas locals to head to for a day on the water. With no beach within a four-hour drive of Las Vegas, Lake Mead is as good as it gets.

If you have local friends with boats, you’re golden. If you don’t, you can always rent a boat at the marina. The local rental companies offer half-day and full-day rentals for you to choose from.

The coast of Lake Mead is rugged and rocky, and you’re never short on amazing views. Even if your number one goal is just to get drunk on a boat, you’ll appreciate the desert beauty of Lake Mead!

8. Drive a fancy carSports cars

If you’ve ever wanted to know what it feels like to drive a Ferrari 100 miles an hour then you might be interested in one of the numerous exotic car experiences that Las Vegas has to offer. The Speed Vegas Motorsports Park offers various packages for those who feel the need for speed.

The motorsports park is located just south of the city off I-15. Here you can rent different cars for an average of about $300 for 5 laps around their Formula 1-style track. Lamborghini, Porsche, Maserati, the world is your oyster at Speed Vegas!

9. Visit the Seven Magic MountainsSeven magic mountains (stock)

Just south of Vegas in the middle of seemingly nowhere, a colorful rock sculpture has been on display since 2016. Originally meant to be a temporary display, it still stands due to its immense popularity. These days, one of the top things to do in Las Vegas off the Strip is to visit the Seven Magic Mountains.

The sculpture itself is nothing more than just 7 large stacks of rocks. But the colorful painting of the rocks stands in stark contrast to the desolate and inhospitable desert they stand in.

Visits to the Seven Magic Mountains are quick and free and won’t take up much of your day, so you’ll be back in time for that lunch buffet at Cesar’s Palace.

10. Go skiingMount Charleston

Las Vegas and skiing? It doesn’t sound like a match made in heaven, but it exists. And we’re not talking Dubai-style indoor skiing here. Las Vegas is in the mountains and there is a ski resort just 45 minutes northwest of the Strip. So if you’re visiting Las Vegas from December to April, you have the opportunity to add some skiing to your weekend of debauchery.

Lee Canyon (link to https://www.leecanyonlv.com/) is Las Vegas’s premier skiing and snowboarding destination. In the winter months, the Spring Mountains outside the city get significant snow. So if you’re a skier, why not ski Las Vegas!? The slopes are not quite as spectacular as the ski resorts in Utah or Lake Tahoe, but it will get the job done.

11. Vegas Off-Road Race Truck Experience

AT SPEEDVEGAS Motorsports Park is the most exhilarating elite driving destination in the world—now includes an extreme truck racing experience: Vegas Off-Road. This rugged, adrenalin-fueled course thrills those who want to take the experience off the pavement and onto the dirt track. Vegas Off-Road features the only off-road track experience in Las Vegas. This 1-mile course consists of nine challenging turns, three massive jumps, ramps and top speed capabilities.

12. Las Vegas ATV Tours.

They provide guided tours through some of the most popular trails in the area, including Valley of Fire State Park and Nellis Dunes. Plus, they offer single-day and multi-day packages so you can customize your adventure however you’d like. Coupon: 56% off a Two–Hour Off–Road ATV Tour of Nellis Dunes for One

13. Wet n’ Wild water park

The park covers more than 20 acres and features 25+ fun attractions including thrill rides teenagers will appreciate. If it is crowded I recommend getting the line pass in order to be able to ride every ride. Here’s a coupon for a $24.99 single admission, 38% off.

14. Cowabunga Bay

Cowabunga Bay is another great water park to go to because let’s face it. Vegas is hot most of the year and you will want to be in a pool as much as possible. We liked the lazy river here, the wave pool, and the huge water rides. And, you can get a Dole Whip here! It’s one of the only places outside of Disney you can get one. $10 off Cowabunga Bay coupon.

Las Vegas off the Strip – FAQs

Is there more to Las Vegas than the Strip?

There is so much more to Las Vegas than just Las Vegas Boulevard, better known as the Strip. There is an epic desert of mountainous terrain just outside the city, as well as plenty of non-gambling-related things to do in the city itself. This post only goes over a fraction of all the things to do in Las Vegas off the Strip.

What is the difference between the Strip and downtown Vegas?

The Strip refers to the stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard between Mandalay Bay in the south to the Stratosphere in the north. It is full of massive casinos, ranging from ultra luxurious to run-of-the-mill, that feature pools, nightclubs, bars, restaurants, concert venues, and literally anything else you can think of.

Downtown Las Vegas is north of the Strip and centered on Fremont Street. It’s much, much smaller and features older hotels and casinos. It’s the original Las Vegas, where the city got its start.

How do you dress on Fremont Street?

Fremont Street is very casual. You can wear literally anything. If you’re going to one of the nicer restaurants, you might want to at least wear a shirt. But in general, the places in the downtown casinos are casual. On the Strip, don’t expect to get into a nightclub without a button-down long-sleeved shirt for men (though women can seemingly wear anything so long as you’re not dressed like a slob).

How to get from Las Vegas Strip to downtown?

The easiest way to get from the Strip to downtown is to take a rideshare service or a taxi. There is also a bus – a double-decker known as the Deuce – that you can take if you don’t mind a scenic drive, as it will make a ton of stops along the way.

Final Word

So now that we’ve gone over the best things to do in Las Vegas off the Strip, what are you waiting for!? Get out there and explore what this amazing city has to offer away from the overpriced and overcrowded Strip casinos. There’s a whole world to explore in southern Nevada!

Get Travel Insurance

Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that can go wrong on any trip. Be prepared for the worst with travel insurance. We use Travelex or Safety Wing (often cheaper).

Book Flights

I use Skyscanner to find flights. I use it so much, I wrote an entire guide to finding cheap flights with Skyscanner! My second favorite site to find flights is Momondo, another great site for finding cheap flights.

Book a Place to Stay

I recommend using Expedia.com or Hotels.com for most hotel bookings. I prefer to book directly with Marriott when I stay there because of their excellent military discount.

If you prefer staying in a vacation rental instead, I recommend VRBO.

Rent Clothes

Rent clothes for your trip with Travel Style Expert for only $50 a month! The first 30 days are free!

Choose Activities and Tours

To find great activities in any area I use Get Your Guide and Viator. If we are visiting a city with lots of popular attractions I always check CityPass and GoCard to see if they have discount cards available.

When I want to book a full-on multi-day tour I use TourRadar. They’ve got fantastic weekly deals. If I am going somewhere in Mexico or the Caribbean I use Apple Vacations.

Rent a Car or Take a Lyft

More often than not Lyft is cheaper than Uber. Use my Lyft link for an $18 credit! For a car rental in any country, I recommend Discover Cars.

Here are what we consider to be the best pools in Las Vegas.

Cosmopolitan has several pools, but its Boulevard Pool is exceptional. You can sunbathe, eat, play pool or video games, and more. Not to mention the killer views of the strip. Check today’s rates.

Best Pools in Vegas for Families

Mandalay BeachMandalay Bay Pool

During the summer Mandalay’s 11-acre pool and beach area is a great place to take the kids. The swimming pool is quite enjoyable because the water is heated.

The wave pool is the best hotel wave pool in Vegas. The waves are strong and there is a height restriction of 48 inches. This means if your kids are shorter than that, they will not be able to use the wave pool without an adult.

The lazy river is heated too and is a decent length around. It is only 3 1/2 feet deep. The hotel does not provide tubes to float in, but they will sell you an expensive tube, so be sure to bring your own!

Non-Hotel guests are welcome to The Beach with paid admission. Valid Monday – Thursday. Please call Cabana Reservations at 877.305.3136 for reservations and questions. Subject to availability. Blackout dates: July 2-8. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Golden NuggetThe Tank pool at the Golden Nugget

Get ready to make a splash at The Tank at the Golden Nugget! With its thrilling 30-foot waterslide through a 200-gallon shark aquarium that you can swim around and a relaxing infinity pool, it’s perfect for families or an adults-only getaway.

Savor sea life at the main pool with drinks at H2O Bar & Grille nearby. Or take things slow atop level three where eight plush cabanas await – plus a bar stocked with your favorite beverages. An unforgettable aquatic adventure awaits! Expedia has Golden Nugget rooms for $49 and Orbitz has rooms for $59.

Trump Las Vegas Pool

Unlike many of the hotels, the Trump hotel only has one pool. Because it is one of the smaller hotels and does not have a casino it tends to be a little more low-key. There’s usually a DJ. Check current rates.

Caesars Palace PoolCaesars Palace Pool

Whether you’re looking to take a dip in one of their luxurious pools or lounge around and soak up the sun, Caesars Palace pools have something for everyone. With amenities like cabanas, daybeds, and bars, these pools have become one of the most popular attractions in Vegas. The atmosphere is full of fun and relaxation – perfect for getting away from it all. Check current rates
