The Porter hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon is a wonderful place to stay, especially if you are traveling with kids or need to be within walking distance of most attractions. With comfortable rooms, outstanding food options, epic views from a swanky rooftop bar, and an indoor pool there’s a lot of love about The Porter.

The Porter
Recently, the kids and I took a little staycation in downtown Portland, Oregon at The Porter. It’s one of the newer hotels in the area and it is part of Hilton’s Curio collections so you can earn your points. We enjoyed our stay here a great deal. I always appreciate decent sleep in a hotel, a hot tub, and fantastic food.
Our room was super quiet and had two beds, but many of the rooms have just one bed. I heard that the corner rooms have a bit more room, but I didn’t see one myself, so I cannot confirm. The view from our room was not notable, but apparently, if you pay for an upgrade you can end up with a fantastic view.
All of the rooms have complimentary WiFi, a 50-inch TV, mini-fridge, tons of power outlets, an umbrella you can borrow, and cozy extras like robes and slippers. If you need a crib or a playpen they are available upon request.
The lighting in the bathroom was really good. We had a shower only, no bathtub. The bath products are Imperial.
The plush Frette robes in the room are the best robes ever! Eden and I took a vote and these are the best hotel robes we’ve ever experienced. We liked them so much we took photos in them. 
The mini bar in the room has snacks and drinks. It is full of Oregon goodies like Crater Lake Spirits. Plus, there’s a Keurig in the room with local teas and coffees.
In the basement is a heated indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. Now, this may not sound any different than most hotels you’ve stayed at, but in Portland, it is very difficult to find a hotel that has a hot tub or a pool.
The fitness center is always open and offers classes in meditation, yoga and aqua aerobics.
There is a business center in the lobby with computers.
Xport Bar & Lounge
Xport is a gorgeous rooftop bar with superior views of Portland. Located on the 16th floor of the Porter Hotel, Xport gives you various views of Portland including bridges and mountains. 
On a brisk day sit by the fire and warm up with one of their handcrafted cocktails like Cinderella’s Big Score a combination of plantation dark rum, Rhum Neisson Agricole, Giffard banana liqueur, Aperol, velvet falernum, lime, coconut milk, and citrus foam. 
The bar menu is a tad limited, but all the bites are quite delicious, especially the chicken tinga tacos. Other morsels like crab tots and chickpea fries are pleasing as well. For seafood fans, there is a raw bar with oysters, Lomi Lomi, prawns, Dungeness crab, tuna poke, caviar, and more.
Kids are allowed up there during the day. Happy Hour is from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday with discounts on drinks and food. When it isn’t happy hour the best drink deal is a Stella beer.
Xport is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Every Friday and Saturday plus the first Tuesday of every month after 8 PM they have a DJ.
Terrane Italian Kitchen + Bar
Terrane Italian Kitchen + Bar for savory Italian-inspired food served all day using fresh seasonal ingredients. All of their pasta is made in house and is excellent, especially the pea pasta. The butternut squash pasta is also pretty great. Their burrata was amazing. 
They serve Italian wines and Pacific Northwest wines. They even have an Elk Cove Pinot Noir sparkling rose exclusive to them. In the mood, for a cocktail, you are in luck because they have super creative cocktails and they make their own limoncello.
Chiosco Pizza Window
Chiosco Pizza Window is at the side of Terrane where they make carry-out pizzas from scratch. You’ll love our artisan crafted thin crust pizza, served at our convenient pickup window for the pizza lover on the go.

Looks like a really great stay, I love Portland its pretty amazing.
Portland is in my list of spots to visit! And it seems as though I’ve found accommodations now! Looks like you had a wonderful time :).

I’d rather have a shower and no tub, than vice versa. :) Everything looks great, I’ll mark it down to remember, for when we are back in the area.
I think I would love it there especially the pool and hot tub is a great thing to have in a hotel :)
