We’ve found the best Bloody Marys in Portland, Oregon.

For those that love Bloody Marys the worst thing is ending up with one that’s watered down. Lucky for you, we are always on the hunt for a solid Bloody Mary. We’ve found some incredible ones in Portland.  I checked around to see if I could find a Bloody Mary tour in Portland you can take, but as of now I have not found one. However, you can easily use this list to create your own tour! Portland does have a Bloody Mary Festival typically during a warmer month.

Top 11 Portland Bloody Marys

Podnah’s

The Bloody Mary at Podnah’s was so fantastic it inspired this entire post. Okay, I’ll admit it, I am biased because it’s a very Texas type restaurant with BBQ and Mexican food options for weekend brunch. But regardless, their Bloody Mary just about knocked my socks off. It was so spicy I wasn’t able to finish it. I don’t mind having heartburn for days as long as it’s worth it and this one is totally worth it.

Q Restaurant

I stumbled upon Q Restaurant on a cold day and warming up with a Bloody Mary, grilled cheese, and a bowl of tomato soup was pretty much perfect. Their “OLD SCHOOL” MARY is a made with Beet Infused Rose City Vodka or Portland Hot Potato Habanero vodka, house-made Bloody Mary Mix, and pickled veggies. Q also has delicious breakfast options, I just happened to have been having lunch the day I visited.

La Petite Provence

La Petite Provence has special house-infused pepper vodka in case you want your Bloody Mary super spicy. Their spicy Mary pairs perfectly with the Risotto cakes. They serve nothing but yummy food here, so it would probably go great with anything. They also offer Bloody Mary flights. I haven’t tried one yet, so I can’t speak to how good it may or may not be. They’ve got locations all over the Portland area including on Alberta Street, Burnside and on Division near 50th.

Pine State Biscuits

Pine State Biscuits has an awesome Bloody Mary topped with a delicious little corn dog. It’s got a bit of kick, but next time I would order it with even more spice. This Bloody Mary won the people’s choice award at Portland’s Bloody Mary Festival. Sadly, I didn’t attend this festival because I didn’t know about it. Pine State Biscuits is a popular spot, so you can expect to stand in line for a bit before getting in. 

Slappy Cakes

Slappy Cakes is certainly not known for their cocktails, but the last time we dined here I discovered that they’ve got a delicious Bloody Mary. It certainly helped me choke down my kid’s pancake creations! Located at 4246 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97215

McMenamins

Depending on which McMenamins you visit there may be a slight variation. But for the most part, I’ve found them to be similar at most locations. They are spicy, but not too spicy. If you like yours with a lot of kick be sure to let them know. The one pictured here is from the Loading Dock, part of the Edgefield and my favorite spot out east of Portland. The Loading Dock is all outdoor seating so keep that in mind if you are wanting to visit. Remember to get your McMenamins passport stamped while you are there!

Harlow

Harlow is another place that is definitely not known for the cocktails, but their Bloody Mary is excellent. It goes perfectly alongside their vegan/vegetarian food options like the jackfruit rancheros. Located at 3632 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR 97214.

Genie’s Cafe

Genie’s Cafe has three delicious Bloody Marys to go along with your Saturday brunch. They are all good, although one is a little insane. It’s the Scorpion Bloody Mary made with Trinidad maruga scorpion pepper {the world’s hottest} infused vodka & their own bloody Mary mix. Garnished with a skewer of pineapple, peppadew, pepperoncini, a celery stick, Thai seasoned rim & a real scorpion! If that’s not the most innovative Bloody Marys you’ve ever heard of, I am going to need to hear about the one you experienced in the comments below! Located at 1101 Southeast Division Street, Portland, OR 97202.

EastBurn Public House

It’s no secret that I like Eastburn Public House. I typically head there for a prickly pear margarita, but recently a friend talked me into a Bloody Mary and holy moly, how have I got this long without this! They have three different types of Bloody Marys to choose from including one with fried chicken and a biscuit. The nice thing is they offer all kinds of ways to upgrade your drink. For example you can pick out your choice of vodka like Monopolowa vodka.

Cafe Nell

They’ve got a good looking one, The Mary Nell, their house bloody mary with skewers of shrimp, chorizo, cheese & pickled vegetables.

Canard

If I’m honest Canard didn’t make the top ten because it wasn’t spicy at all. However, if you can’t handle spice this one is for you. If you want a Bloody Mary that most definitely won’t give you heartburn this is it. You could always ask what kind of hot sauces they have on hand and kick it up a notch yourself! Located at 734 E Burnside St, Portland, OR 97214.

Cafe Rowan

Cafe Rowan offers a The Bloody Mary Flight off and on throughout the year. It’s just $22 for all four.
